Award-winning singer-songwriter Aliza Hava weaves soothing sonics
and poetic lyricism together on uplifting track “Emotion Tide,”
reminding us to feel and embrace heartache in order to move from it.
With a wash of sultry Spanish guitars blended into hazy electric and
acoustic guitars alongside layers of keys and analog sounds, the track
is led by Hava’s bold yet soulful vocals.
Lyrically, she manages to strike a balance between vulnerability and
strength as she explores overcoming the heartache of a broken
relationship and emerging stronger from tough times.
Speaking of the track, Aliza says, “We all know people often hold back
their tears in an effort to be strong. But true healing can only happen
when we allow those tears to fall and cleanse us of the grief of a
broken heart.”
Featuring a roster of talents including keyboardist, Dean Dinning
(Toad the Wet Sprocket) and bassist Michael Visceglia, Suzanne
Vega's musical director, the track is accompanied by a cinematic
music video produced and directed by Matthew Freiheit in Los
Angeles.
A fan favourite track whenever it was performed live, the recorded
version of the track gives us the first peek of Hava’s forthcoming
album which explores overcoming trauma via spiritual perspectives on
life and the idea of reclaiming a sense of peace.
A self-taught musician who found solace in music as a young child,
Aliza Hava’s empowering yet intricate artistry finds ways to pull apart
trauma to find the tranquillity within it.
