PHOENIX, AZ | September 20, 2022: Gilbert, AZ-based indie pop darlings, popsiclestickairport (PSa), are releasing their second single “Best Friend” on September 30, 2022 from their upcoming EP, Music for Fairies (October 21, 2022). “Best Friend” is an exploration of the types of conversations between people who are close. The track was co-produced and mixed/mastered by Matthew Keller (The Maine, John The Ghost, Katastro) who had a hand in the production of most of the songs on the EP. Heavily inspired by The 1975, “Best Friend” features PSa’s synth-driven instrumentals combined with Rhys Green’s expressive vocals to form a slice of indie-pop perfection.

"Best Friend” is a song about conversations and friendships/relationships. Conversations are so meaningful and a great way to bond but sometimes you can get so comfortable that you forget to talk. It’s kind of about remembering that you need to speak up. - Rhys Green, (vocalist) “Sometimes there’s some complacency in the conversations we have without close friends or someone we’re in a relationship with. One side pushes and another side pulls. In addition to the single and EP release, PSa is perfecting their live performance for their release show with Weathers and Moontower as part of the Rock It Up music series presented by Alt AZ 93.3FM and Tempe Marketplace in October. PSa will also be closing out the year with a performance at Tokyo Beyond Festival in Tokyo, Japan in November. They were one of only 30 international bands selected to perform alongside approximately 30 artists from Japan. Popsiclestickairport is a 5-piece American Indie pop/rock band from Gilbert, Arizona. Formed in 2019, PSa has already released three entirely self-produced, self-recorded EPs, Blossom, Telephone and Sounds That I Hear, that include dance-inducing tracks, like "Blossom,""I'm Your Stupid Little Punching Bag," and "Better Than You." Their latest single, "On Your Mind," released on May 20, 2022. PSa has played notable venues regionally including the Rebel Lounge, The Nile Theater, Valley Bar, Che Cafe and Larimer Lounge entertaining audiences across the southwest. Their live set subverts all expectations as the soft-spoken and unassuming group transforms before a crowd to deliver a captivating, high energy performance reminiscent of The 1975, Wallows, and/or Bleachers.
