The Go-Go’s, Cherie Currie, Cindy Blackman Santana, Amy Lee, and More
to be Honored at the 2021 She Rocks Awards
The She Rocks Awards are being presented a bit differently this year. In a world as tense as this, having positive female role models is so important for the next generation.
January 22nd will see a virtual award show taking place to celebrate women in rock.
After being honored in the past, Lzzy Hale returns to host this year’s awards. She said in a press conference that it is important for young girls to see female rockers. Margaret Co, Cherie Currie, Kathy Valentine, Jane Wiedlin and Cindy Blackman Santana joined her in that conference. They each shared why they feel having awards like this is so important. The overall theme was sisterhood, visibility, breaking boundaries, and empowering the next generation of female musicians. Margaret Cho may have said it best, when she said there is a mentality out there of “if you can’t see it, you can’t be it”.
This high-energy evening will include live virtual music performances, awards and speeches, celebrity appearances, a fabulous silent auction, and much more, all available online.
Visit https://sherocksawards.com/ and tune in on January 22nd to see the women who rock.
